Controller repair, stick drift and buttons
The character walks off on its own, a button sticks in the middle of a game or the battery is flat after an hour. Usually only one part is worn, and the rest of the controller is fine.

What goes wrong with controllers
Stick drift
The analogue stick reports movement although nobody is touching it, the camera turns or the character sets off. The cause is wear and dust in the stick.
Sometimes a clean is enough, otherwise we replace the stick unit.
Buttons stick or don't respond
Sticky residue, worn contacts or a broken switch, often on the shoulder buttons.
We open the controller, clean the contacts and replace whatever is needed.
Battery no longer lasts
The DualSense, DualShock 4, Joy-Con and Pro Controller have a built-in battery that weakens over the years. Xbox controllers mostly run on batteries or a rechargeable pack.
We replace the battery, and on the Xbox controller we check the contacts in the battery compartment.
Will not charge or only when you wiggle the cable
The charging port is worn, dirty or has come loose from the board.
We clean the port or replace it.
Will not connect
With the DualSense and DualShock 4, a reset is worth trying first. Switch the console off, press the small button in the hole on the back for at least five seconds with an unfolded paper clip, then reconnect the controller with the USB cable and the PS button.
If it still does not work, we check the board.
Joy-Con with drift
For Joy-Con with drift, Nintendo offers a free repair in Switzerland, even after the warranty has run out. It does not cover the Pro Controller or the Joy-Con 2 of the Switch 2, which we repair like any other controller.
How the repair works
Enquire
You pick your controller and the problem above. With our reply you send it in by post or drop it off in Holziken by appointment.
Diagnosis and fixed price
The diagnosis costs nothing. You get a fixed amount and then decide.
Repair and return
We repair it, test the sticks and buttons and send the controller back to you.
When the repair is not worth it
If a controller has several faults at once, a new one can be the better choice. We tell you that before the repair, not afterwards.
Common questions
How can I tell whether it really is stick drift?
If the character or the camera moves although you are not touching the stick, it is drift. On the Switch it is worth recalibrating the sticks in System Settings first, sometimes that is enough.
Is there a warranty on the repair?
Yes. The repair we carried out and the parts we fitted come with a 12 month warranty from the day the device is returned. New damage from drops or liquid and work by third parties are excluded. The details are on our warranty page.
Can stick drift on the PS5 controller be fixed for good?
A new stick works cleanly again, but wears over time just like the old one. How long it lasts depends on how much you play.
How much does a controller repair cost?
That depends on the controller and the fault. After the free diagnosis you get a fixed amount, and we only repair after your OK.
Do you also repair the DualSense Edge and the Xbox Elite Controller?
Yes, we look at those too, with the same free diagnosis and a fixed amount before the repair.
Do you also repair old controllers?
Yes, controllers from the PS3, Xbox 360, GameCube and older consoles too. With very old pads it depends on whether spare parts still exist.
How do I send the controller in?
By post from anywhere in Switzerland, well padded in a small box, or you drop it off in Holziken by appointment. You do not need to send the console or charging cable, and for the Switch the Joy-Con that is playing up is enough.
